escravizados. A
informação registrada inclui o nome, idade, raça, estado civil, ocupação
e status livre ou escravo dos membros de cada família. Esta
fonte permite que os pesquisadores e estudantes a oportunidade de
compreender melhor os padrões de vida e de trabalho em um dos centros da
escravidão atlântica.
ENGENHO VITÓRIA
Records a detailed portrait of more than seven thousand inhabitants of a
Brazilian sugar plantation region, over half of whom were enslaved. The
information recorded includes the name, age, race, marital status,
occupation, and free or enslaved status of the members of each
household. This source allows researchers and students an opportunity to
better understand the patterns of life and work in one of the centers
of Atlantic slavery.
