We are excited to announce the third
conference of the NWO research program "Heritage Dynamics: Politics of
Authentication and Aesthetics of Persuasion in Ghana, South Africa, Brazil and
the Netherlands", to be held at the Centro de Estudos Afro-Orientais in the city
of Salvador, Bahia (Brazil), from 17 to 19 October, 2011.The title of
the conference is "The Senseable Past: History as Sensational Form".In
the attachment you will find an elaboration of the themes and topics to be
discussed. If you are interested in joining our discussions and debates -- as
well as our excursions to relevant heritage sites in and around Salvador da
